This training includes weekly personalized videos ranging from 1 to 3 minutes. These videos are tailor-made for each seller’s profile and designed to help the company achieve its objectives.
What’s your backstory?
Eugenio began working on Afiliadu after losing his job and experiencing the hardships of the job market. During this time, he noticed that his entrepreneur friends struggled to find new clients and grow their businesses. Taking advantage of the situation, he became a commission-based external sales representative for them. This experience motivated him to develop Afiliadu with the aim of addressing the difficulties faced by remote sales teams.
Despite the rising inflation for millennials and Gen Z, their wages have remained stagnant for the past 50 years.
As a result, these generations have become accustomed to seeking out additional sources of income.
How did you acquire your first customers?
Affiliadu acquired its first customers when Eugenio began providing personalized assistance to his friends' businesses, helping them generate leads and create referral programs. His hands-on experience led him to recognize the common challenges that many companies face in acquiring new clients. Seeing an opportunity to solve this problem and scale his approach, Eugenio founded Afiliadu. The platform aims to connect companies in need of leads with individuals or entities that can generate them, creating a comprehensive solution for businesses. This approach laid the foundation for Afiliadu's customer base.
What were some of the challenges Afiliadu encountered?
Afiliadu encountered key challenges in transforming remote sales teams:
Motivation vs. Action Gap: A significant discrepancy between the desire to earn more and the willingness to act, exacerbated by inadequate commission schemes.
Support and Training Deficiencies: Insufficient follow-up, support, and tailored training hinder performance and motivation.
Lack of Inclusion: Many sales representatives feel detached from the company, affecting their engagement and productivity.
Performance Imbalance: A small portion of the team often carries the bulk of sales efforts, with the majority underperforming.
Lead Generation Inconsistency: Innovative lead generation strategies fail without persistent and consistent execution.
What's your motivation?
Eugenio noticed that despite the rising inflation for millennials and Gen Z, their wages have remained stagnant for the past 50 years. As a result, these generations have become accustomed to seeking out additional sources of income. Eugenio conducted extensive research to adapt to this trend and found that low-skilled workers are increasingly turning to more modern, on-demand jobs such as DiDi, Uber, and Rappi.
He also believes shift towards on-demand jobs is beginning to affect higher education professionals. Companies are increasingly utilizing technology to improve their performance without increasing their payroll. In light of these challenges, Eugenio recognized an opportunity to create Afiliadu. This platform connects individuals who want to earn extra income through referrals or reselling with businesses in need of leads.
What's next for Afiliadu?
Developing a Comprehensive Video Training Library Platform: Afiliadu is currently focused on completing the development of a platform that will function as a video training library customized for every company. The objective is to provide management with a tool that can automate the distribution of training videos to sales representatives directly through their preferred communication applications. This will ensure that personalized and easily accessible learning experiences are available to the sales team.
Launching a Talent and Company Marketplace: Afiliadu aims to build a strong customer base and develop an extensive collection of company-specific training videos. After achieving this, their next objective is to transform the platform into a talent and business marketplace. The marketplace will function like an on-demand video streaming service, where aspiring sales representatives can browse and apply to companies they are interested in. This feature will provide candidates valuable insights into each company's values and offerings, enabling a more informed and targeted application process.
These strategic initiatives are designed to refine the training and development aspect of remote sales teams and to revolutionize how sales talent connects with potential employers, making Afiliadu a central hub for sales excellence and opportunity.
